5 Ingredient cake, need I say more!? This simple dessert takes that dreamy duo and turns it into layers upon layers of sweet, summery bliss. This will be a beautiful but easy and quick cake for your next holiday party or event!
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 pack of puff pastry thawed (2 sheets)
- 1/2 can condensed milk
- 8 oz cool whip thawed
- 6-8 strawberries puréed
- Optional, more strawberries to garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Cut each pastry sheet into 3 pieces (total of 6). Roll out each piece to 1.5 the size.
- Place on parchment paper and bake at 400 for 8 minutes.
- While sheets are baking and cooling, work on the cream.
- Blend or pulse strawberries for the cream.
- With a hand blender, whip up the cream cheese and condensed milk until smooth, add strawberry purée and mix until smooth.
- Fold in the cool whip.
- Trim your puff pastry layers on all sides to be the same size. Save the crumbs.
- Add a bit of cream to the bottom of a serving plate. Top with the first pastry layer.
- Add a generous amount of cream (approx divide into 8). Spread all around and add your next layer. Repeat to the end.
- Cover the top and sides with the rest of the cream and pastry crumbs.
- Garnish with sliced strawberries, optional
- Let the cake sit in room temp for a couple of hours, this will soften up all the layers. You can now serve it or store it in the fridge.
- Be slow and gentle when cutting into the cake. (Cake tastes best when it sits in room temperature for at least half an hour)
