10-Minute Chow Mein Recipe

A delicious and easy Chow Mein recipe you can make right at home! It tastes just like takeout except much healthier for you! And, who doesn’t love an easy and quick dinner recipe?!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of ”chow mein stir fry noodles”
  • 12 ounces of shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 large sweet onion
  • 2-3 celery sticks, optional
  • 2 small carrots, optional
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2-3 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3-4 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper per taste
  • Toppings and add in ideas- Sesame seeds, sriracha, protein-chicken, beef, shrimp.

Instructions

  1. Shred cabbage and carrots (optional). Slice onion thinly into long pieces and dice the celery.
  2. In a pot or sauce pan bring water to boil for the noodles.
  3. Add oil to pan and on medium heat add onions and carrots (optional). Sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add cabbage and celery (optional). Sauté for couple more minutes or to your liking.
  5. Meanwhile add the noddles to the boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Rinse and Drain.
  6. Add noodles to the veggie mix and mix well.
  7. Add sesame oil, soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix well.
  8. Add salt and pepper per taste, mix well and enjoy!
