Slow Cooked Beef Tri-tips

The Perfect Comfort food that is packed with Protein and Veggies. Serve this as Gravy or a Fancy meat entree. Goes well with Pasta or Mashed potatoes. Do not own a slow cooker? no worries! just keep scrolling down.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Beef Tri-tips
  • 1/2 cup meat drippings or broth
  • 5-6 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 large peppers
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 Tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp Salt plus more (or your Favorite seasoning)
  • 1/2 Tbsp pepper plus more
  • 1 Tbsp Butter or oil

Note: you can replace the veggies with any other you love or have on hand!

Instructions:

  1. Wash and pat dry the meat.
  2. Cut the meat into 1-2 inch cubes. Add 1 Tbs of salt and 1 tsp of pepper. Mix well.
  3. Chop up all your veggies.
  4. Add 1 tbsp of oil or butter to a pan. Sear the meat on medium- high heat for 1-2 minute per side, till lightly browned.
  5. Add meat, veggies and pan drippings to the slow cooker. There should be enough liquid to cover the bottom, if not add broth.
  6. cook on high heat for 4 hours. ( If you do NOT own a slow cooker you can bake this in the oven in a cast iron or baking pan at 425. Cooking time will vary though)
  7. After 4 hours in a separate small sauce bowl add 1 Tbsp flour or cornstarch and couple tablespoons of the meat drippings from the slow cooker and mix it well till smooth. Add to the slow cooker and mix well till dissolved.
  8. Add the heavy cream to the meat and mix well again. Check for seasoning and add more if needed at this time.
  9. Cook for another 30 min to 1 hour. Enjoy over pasta, rice or potatoes. Or serve as a main course!
