Easy Chebureki Recipe

If you’ve never made Meat turnovers because making your own dough is a hassle, we’ll these raw tortillas got you! These taste just like the real childhood Chebureku!

Ingredient’s

  • 1lb ground chicken (you can use any meat)
  • 1 medium sweet onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper
  • About 10-12 raw tortillas
  • Herbs optional
  • Oil for frying

Instruction’s

  1. Puree the onion in a food processor until it has an applesauce consistency.
    Add 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, puréed onion, egg and herbs to the chicken and stir.
  2. Spread a heaping tablespoon of your meat filling over 1/2 of your raw tortilla, leaving about a 1″ border at the edges to seal.
  3. Brush all the way around the edges of your tortilla with cold water. Fold the tortilla in half and seal the edges by pushing down around the edges with a fork.
  4. Heat a large skillet with enough oil to just coat the bottom of the pan. Heat over medium heat. Once the oil is hot add chebureki to the skillet 2 at a time and sautee 2-3 min per side. Until golden brown.
  5. Transfer cooked turnovers onto papertowels to soak up excess oil.
