These Strawberry Turnovers are one of the easiest desserts to make and the fastest to disappear! With just 2 main ingredients, you will have these ready in just 20 minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 lb puff pastry (2 sheets) thawed
- 21 oz can Strawberry filling (cherry, blueberry, apple)
- 1 egg and 1 Tbsp water for egg wash
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Optional glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1-2 Tbsp milk, water, or heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Using a rolling pin, roll out the first pastry sheet and cut into 9 even pieces. Repeat with the second sheet.
- Place about 1 Tbsp of the filing in the center of each square. Bring the edges together and crimp tightly along the edges with a fork to seal. ( you can also brush the edges with egg white to help with the seal)
- Transfer the turnovers to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper keeping them at least 1″ apart. With a knife, cut 2-3 small slits on the top of each turnover.
- Brush the tops with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Optional: Drizzle or dip into glaze
