Tender Pork Shoulder Roast

Fall apart pork roast will be on repeat once you give it a try. Prepping is minimal with outstanding results and your whole family will rave about how delicious and tender it is.

Ingredients

  • 7-7.5 Lb Pork shoulder bone in or out 
  • 19 cups water (marinade)
  • 6 Tbsp salt (marinade)
  • 1 Tbsp pepper (marinade)
  • 4-5 bay leaves (marinade)
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic (marinade)
  • 1/2 Tbsp salt or your favorite seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp Mayo

Instructions

  1. Rinse the meat. (Do not trim off the fat)
  2. Add all marinade ingredients to a large pot and let it come to a boil.
  3. Once the marinade has cooled, add the pork shoulder to the pot or pour the marinade into a large bag and add the pork. Cover and let it marinate overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 400. Pat dry the pork from the marinade.
  5. Rub your favorite seasoning on to the pork and spread the mayo.
  6. Roast the meat on a baking pan covered with foil for about 3.5 hours. If using a dutch oven, the roasting time is less. Check at 2.5-3 hour mark. Meat should be tender and fall apart.
  7. Let the meat rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting into it!
